Prime Video has dropped the trailer of The Revolutionaries, and Nikkhil Advani is taking viewers back to the fight for India's freedom but with a younger, faster and more action-packed lens. Led by Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada, the upcoming period drama follows four revolutionaries who risk everything in their armed resistance against the British Raj.
Inspired by true events and based on Sanjeev Sanyal's bestseller Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom, the series premieres on Prime Video on September 11, 2026.
The trailer introduces Bhuvan as Rash Behari Bose, Rohit as Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Pratibha as Pratibha Lahiri and Gurfateh as Bagha Jatin. Bound by friendship, conviction and a shared dream of a free India, the four young revolutionaries find themselves up against the might of the British Empire, with General Dyer, played by Jason Shah, hot on their trail.
Packed with expansive visuals, gun battles and high-stakes action, The Revolutionaries appears to move away from the conventional, solemn period-drama template. The series instead puts its young heroes at the centre of a fast-paced rebellion, while exploring the sacrifices they make for a country whose freedom they may never get to witness.
Bhuvan Bam, who plays the master-of-disguise Rash Behari Bose, said the role allowed him to explore a historical figure about whom little archival material exists. Rohit, meanwhile, called portraying Sachindra Nath Sanyal an honour, adding that the role pushed him physically and emotionally beyond his comfort zone.
For Pratibha Ranta, the appeal lay in playing a young progressive woman trying to find her voice in a male-dominated world. She said her character's struggle remains relevant even today. Gurfateh, who essays Bagha Jatin, revealed that the show introduced him to a chapter of Indian history he knew little about, describing his character as a man with "quiet strength" and controlled aggression.
The series also features Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury in key roles. Directed and created by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment, The Revolutionaries has been written by Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang and Rutvi Mehta.
The Revolutionaries will stream in Hindi, along with Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali dubs, with subtitles in English and several international languages. The series premieres on September 11 on Prime Video.
