Karan Johar-hosted The Traitors Season 2 has already claimed five players. Munawar Faruqui, entering the game with multiple reality-show wins behind him, found himself under the scanner almost immediately and was sent home at the very first Circle of Shaq. In an exclusive chat with mid-day, he opens up about being targeted and comments on Mallika Sherawat.
Munawar was eliminated in the first Circle of Shaq after receiving the highest number of votes. Following his elimination, he got emotional and called the others insecure. When asked if he felt targeted, Munawar said, "I felt like, yes, I was targeted. I can't underplay it and look stupid. They will always think that Munawar is a threat. I can't change that. I was talking to everyone, and I was not hiding anything. Some people want to win, and some want to get me out."
Harman added, "We had said that the Traitors are not working hard to get Munawar out; the Innocents are."
Mallika Sherawat has emerged as one of the most-talked-about contestants on the show. Commenting on her presence, Munawar stated, "Whenever you watch a film, there are side characters. There is an aunt who comes in the supporting cast." At this point, Karan Singh Magic chimed in and jokingly referred to her as "Kaleshi Bhua", leaving Munawar laughing. He then continued, "Whenever there is a scene with them, we enjoy it. They are very fun, but they are not the lead at the end of the day. So, she is a part of one good cinema that she is in. She is a character, but not the main character."
A viral clip of The Traitors contestant Shalini Passi forgetting Munawar Faruqui's name and referring to him as "Maanyavar" sparked playful reactions online. In the episode, Munawar approaches Passi and tells her that he did not get a chance to meet her properly before asking how she was. While Passi says she knows him, she then asks what he does and whether he is a singer. Munawar introduces himself as a stand-up comedian and adds that he also dabbles in acting and writing.
Reacting to the moment, Munawar said, "I don't get bothered by that. Even if she doesn't know me as a person, I don't feel bad about it. The world is a very big place, yaar. It's okay. You're not missing out on anything, and I've always believed that. So, I don't get offended. But she's a really good person."
