His roots lie in theatre and Marathi TV

Bodke comes from a theatre background and initially built his acting career through Marathi television. His stage experience helped him develop a strong foundation in performance.

He also appeared in Hindi television

Before making a major transition to films, Bodke worked in Hindi television, including Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein, where he played a negative lead.

He earned recognition for Ananya

One of the important milestones in Bodke's Marathi career was Ananya, for which he received critical appreciation and won multiple awards.

His Bollywood breakthrough came with Drishyam 2

Bodke gained widespread recognition after playing David in Ajay Devgn and Tabu's Drishyam 2. The film brought him considerable attention among Hindi-speaking audiences.

Interestingly, David wasn't his original audition role

Bodke had initially auditioned for another character in Drishyam 2 and was selected for it. Director Abhishek Pathak later asked him to audition for David, a role he eventually landed.

He prepared extensively for David

For the Goan Catholic character, Bodke interacted with locals to understand the dialect. He also changed his voice, grew a thick beard and gained around 4–5 kg to suit the character.

His Drishyam 2 performance opened new doors

The actor received appreciation from audiences and industry colleagues following the film's release. The positive response also reportedly led to more film opportunities.

He is now stepping into a challenging real-life role

Bodke has been cast as businessman Subrata Roy in Hansal Mehta's Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, the third instalment of the Scam franchise.

The series explores Subrata Roy's rise and controversies

Scam 2010 will trace Roy's journey from his beginnings to building the Sahara business empire and the legal controversies surrounding the group, including the SEBI-Sahara investor refund case.

Kritika Singh plays Roy's wife Swapna Roy, while Moon Banerjee portrays his mother Chhabi Roy. The series is adapted from Tamal Bandyopadhyay's book Sahara: The Untold Story and is directed/showrun by Hansal Mehta.
