In September this year, the New York City will witness a vibrant celebration of Indian arts and heritage as the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) will stage its first-ever international showcase at Lincoln Center.
The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) announced a spectacular cultural celebration in the heart of New York City. The landmark celebration of the country's rich heritage will be held from 12 to 14 September, 2025 and the Lincoln Center will host the first-ever India Weekend, a vibrant showcase of India's heritage through music, dance, fashion, food, and theatre.
Nita Ambani, the Founder and Chairperson of NMACC said that Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre was thrilled to announce the India Weekend being held in New York City.
"We are thrilled to bring the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre India Weekend to New York City for the very first time! It is designed to be a global celebration of India's cultural legacy - our art, crafts, music, dance, fashion, and food. At NMACC, our vision has always been to showcase the best of the world to India and bring the best of India to the world. This special weekend marks the first step forward on that journey, celebrating the spirit of India on one of the world's most iconic stages - Lincoln Center. I am excited to share our rich traditions and legacy with New York City and the world," Nita Ambani said in a statement.

The event will open at the David H. Koch Theater with the US premiere of The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation, India's biggest stage production. Directed by Feroz Abbas Khan, the musical travels through 5,000 years of Indian history and features over 100 performers, grand sets, and stunning costumes by designer Manish Malhotra. Music is composed by Ajay-Atul, and choreography is led by top names like Vaibhavi Merchant and Mayuri Upadhya, it said.
It said that the opening night will also feature a special red carpet event - the Grand Swagat, with the Swadesh Fashion Show curated by Manish Malhotra. Guests will enjoy an exclusive tasting experience of traditional Indian cuisine created by Michelin-star chef Vikas Khanna.
Over the weekend, Damrosch Park will transform into the Great Indian Bazaar, offering visitors a rich mix of Indian fashion, crafts, food, dance, and yoga sessions. Mornings will begin with peaceful Bhajans and Gita readings, followed by yoga workshops led by expert Eddie Stern and Bollywood dance sessions by Shiamak Davar's team, the statement said.
It said that top Indian musicians like Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and Parthiv Gohil will perform live, offering a blend of classical and contemporary sounds. A special Garba and Dandiya Raas event will bring traditional Indian festive spirit to life.
The weekend will end on a colourful note with Phoolon Ki Holi, a flower-themed celebration accompanied by retro music and a lively DJ set.
