Considered the biggest Carnival held in the world, the Rio Carnival is a festival held before Lent, the period of fasting and prayer observed by the followers of Christianity around the world, before Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ
While the first Carnival is known to have occurred in 1723, it has continued since then, and now sees approximately two million visitors every day. In India, Goa hosts the popular Carnival in a big way, and sees a lot of visitors too
