It is not an exaggeration when you listen to Aamir Khan, Kapoor, and other celebrities talk about how he makes their fitness routines fun and fulfilling. In an exclusive conversation with Mid-Day's Sonia Lulla on health and wellness and everything in between, he shares a few recommendations for becoming the healthiest version of you.

While workouts can be essentially physical, Shivohaam stresses the need of goal-setting to make up for a tool for self-motivation and self-drivenness in one’s fitness journey. ‘It all starts with psychology’, he says, while laying a special emphasis into labelling physical exercise as a powerful mental workout for your mind.

Some people may have a very structured exercise routine, while others simply incorporate exercise into their lifestyle, by walking rather than driving, parking farther away from their destination, or even walking up stairs instead of an elevator. Shivohaam explains choosing the right exercise form is a matter of finding an activity that helps one achieve his fitness goals and is safe and sustainable.

Flexibility or mobility, as Shivohaam likes to put it, is the primary priority in fitness. The common perception is that flexibility is just for gymnasts, but the truth is it is rather for everyone, because mobility forms a crucial part of one’s regular workout regimen.

A major component of fitness, Shivohaam says, is increasing lean body mass. From the foods we eat to the duration, frequency, and types of workouts we perform, each component will significantly impact our ability to achieve the ever-demanding lean, muscle-building goals, he explains.
