Argentine legend Lionel Messi may not have hit the right notes in the FIFA World Cup final, as his team went down 0-1 in a lop-sided affair to Spain, but one Bandra eatery, Smackin', seems to have hit bulls eye when it comes to one of his favourite foods.
Messi and his meat-devouring Argentine teammates are known for their love for the traditional asados, a South American barbecue technique, where meat is roasted on large metal grills.
Chimmichurri buff burger
Messi's boys prefer their meat to be marinated in chimichurri sauce (a blend of chopped parsley, minced garlic, oregano, pepper flakes, olive oil, and red wine vinegar), while Smackin' does a similarly mean Chimichurri Buff Burger, which we tried and enjoyed.
The juicy double buff patty, accentuated by a slice of cheese, some burger sauce and of course, a generous coating of the chimichurri mixture felt like a perfectly executed Leo Messi goal - soft yet skillful and accurately hitting the goal... err... taste buds!
It's the perfect dish to get over the distasteful football that the Argentine team came up with in the World Cup summit clash.
