What happens when children stop wondering whether their art is âcorrect? They begin to play and create. Creative Quotient (CQ), a two-day festival by ArtyCurate in association with Museum of Solutions (MuSo), brings that instinct back through its theme, The Art of Play.
The festival is curated by ArtyCurate founders and art college friends, Heetal Dattani, Bhavana Phul, and Ruchita Dar Shah, who believe formal learning and the growing influence of technology can sometimes overshadow children's natural creativity. Here, folk artists and contemporary practitioners come together and encourage young visitors to move from watching art, to making it.
Across four zones, families can dip into talks and panels, wander through murals and installations, or explore the art bazaar. The hands-on workshops invite young visitors to experiment with block printing, clay, zines, cyanotype, comics and a music lab. Those looking to take their creativity further can sign up for masterclasses in linocut stamp-making, origami, reel-making and branding. The festival's itinerary includes events for six to 16 year-olds.
"The best moment is when a child stops asking âIs this right?' and starts creating. In a world ridden with Artificial Intelligence (AI), and with the slow degradation of creativity, Creative Quotient is designed to get families to that moment," says Dar Shah.
There will be prizes to be won, the organisers reveal. Last year, 550 children participated, with winning works featured in Art India magazine and exhibited at MuSo. This year's winners will be showcased at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2027.
