A yoga mat, a journal and a room filled with friendly shelter dogs could be the recipe for a slower, more mindful weekend. On July 25, Airborne Aerial Fitness in Mazgaon will host a beginner-friendly Puppy Yoga and Journaling Circle in collaboration with Pawga Pets Yoga, bringing together yoga, meditation, reflective writing and time with rescue dogs.
Unlike typical puppy yoga sessions, participants will not perform poses with the dogs or pick them up. Instead, the shelter dogs will roam freely while attendees practise yoga at their own pace. The session will conclude with a 10-minute heartfulness meditation and a guided journaling circle, with journals and pencils provided.
Zamina Ladiwala
For founder Zamina Ladiwala, the collaboration reflects the studio's broader vision of wellness. "Movement is a lot more than fitness. It's about how you feel when you leave the space. Bringing together mindful movement and the unconditional love of animals creates an experience that can help people slow down, reconnect with themselves and even support rescue dogs," says Ladiwala.
Ladiwala has also noticed a shift in what participants seek from wellness. "People today are looking for experiences, not just workouts. If someone leaves feeling calmer, inspired by a rescue dog or more connected with themselves, then we've achieved exactly what we hoped for," she says.
