The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested two former senior executives of the Reliance Anil Ambani Group (RAAG) as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation, reported the IANS.
The ED said Sateesh Seth and Gautam Bhailal Doshi, both former Group Managing Directors of the conglomerate, were arrested on June 12 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
According to the agency, Seth was first produced before a special PMLA court in Greater Mumbai, which granted transit remand. He was later produced before a special court in Dwarka, New Delhi, which remanded him to ED custody for six days, as per the IANS.
Doshi was produced before the Special PMLA Court at Rouse Avenue in New Delhi and was remanded to ED custody for five days.
Allegations Linked to Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications
The agency stated that Seth was arrested in connection with its investigation involving Reliance Infrastructure Limited, while Doshi was arrested in a separate case linked to Reliance Communications Limited.
Investigators allege that Seth played a key role in the diversion of public funds related to road construction projects undertaken by Reliance Infrastructure.
The ED further alleged that Doshi was involved in creating corporate structures that were later used to siphon off proceeds of crime from Reliance Communications and Reliance Telecom.
Responding to the arrests, a spokesperson for the Reliance Group said neither individual is currently associated with the organisation.
According to the company, Sateesh Seth left the group in 2025 after serving as Group Managing Director and holding directorships in several companies.
The spokesperson added that Gautam Doshi ceased to be associated with the group in 2020 after serving in similar senior leadership roles.
The ED said both men held key managerial and strategic positions within the Reliance Anil Ambani Group for several years.
According to the agency, Seth was involved in major commercial and financial decisions across several group companies and served as a director in various infrastructure and power businesses, news agency reported.
Doshi, meanwhile, reportedly oversaw taxation, compliance, planning and risk management functions and was also an authorised signatory for several Indian and overseas bank accounts linked to group companies.
The Enforcement Directorate said investigations are continuing and further examination of financial transactions and corporate structures is underway, according to the PTI.
The agency is probing alleged money laundering offences linked to the activities of certain companies within the Reliance Anil Ambani Group.
