A 43-year-old woman worker of the Shiv Sena and her husband were allegedly assaulted following an argument at a party office in Mumbai's Vakola area, police said on Tuesday, reported the PTI.
An official said cross-complaints have been registered in connection with the incident that took place late on Monday night, an official said.
According to the complaint filed by Ashwini Bhosle, the 43-year-old was visiting the Shiv Sena 'shakha' (branch) in Vakola for the ongoing Ganesh festival when the accused, also Sena workers, blocked her husband Sandip Bhosle from entering on the ground that he did not hold any party position, the news agency reported.
She further alleged that when I intervened, Shakha chief Sanjay Telhore abused me, while two others identified as Shinde and Gawli inappropriately touched her and physically assaulted her and her husband, as per PTI. Furthermore, her husband also allegedly lost his gold jewellery during the incident.
Vakola Police registered an FIR against Telhore and other two under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections including 74 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), according to the PTI.
The police official added, "Another FIR was registered on Telhore's complaint against Ashwini Bhosle and her husband for allegedly assaulting him during the altercation."

The violence at the hospital reportedly followed a dispute over billing, diagnostic procedures and the discharge of injured 'govindas' who were undergoing treatment after participating in Dahi Handi celebrations.
According to the police, the situation escalated at the hospital, with a group of people allegedly becoming involved in a confrontation with staff members.
CCTV footage from the hospital reportedly showed a group of people assaulting a receptionist. Following the incident, police registered a case against 17 people in connection with the alleged violence.
