The Immigration Department at Mumbai airport detained a Bangladeshi national attempting to travel to Oman using forged Indian documents. The accused, travelling under the name âSK Millon', was later identified as Mohammad Asadur Rahman, 30, a resident of Shyamnagar in Bangladesh's Satkhira district. Rahman was scheduled to board flight OV762 to Oman at 10.50 am on Wednesday on an employment visa. A police officer said, "When he reached the immigration counter, the immigration officer Ganesh Gawali grew suspicious of him during verification. While checking the accused's mobile phone, officials found a Bangladeshi national identity card, a soft copy of his wife Lipi Parvin's Bangladeshi passport, and visa-related documents of his son Labib Ul Islam."
Police said Rahman confessed to illegally entering India in 2014. Investigators found he had obtained forged Indian documents, including a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, voter ID card, and digital ration card.
Officials seized an Indian passport, Aadhaar card, voter ID card, copies of birth certificates, a digital ration card, an Oman employment visa, a boarding pass, and a mobile phone.
