The NRI coastal police have registered an accidental death report in connection with the alleged suicide of a builder whose son is a well-known drug dealer. "On Friday morning, we received information that a businessman was lying unconscious at his residence. After reaching the spot, we took the individual to a hospital, but he was declared dead by doctors. An accidental death report has been registered, and we are investigating the matter," a police officer told mid-day.
"We have found a diary at the residence. There are rumours that the deceased had written the name of an NCB [Narcotics Control Bureau] officer, but as of now, nothing suspicious has been found and no suicide note has been recovered," the officer said. The police will record the statements of the family. "We will try to find out the motive behind the deceased's alleged actions. We will also investigate the dairy that was found at his residence," the police said.
