Matunga police have booked two unidentified persons for allegedly threatening to kill a Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) member. According to the complainant, Shashikant Eknathrao Bangar, 54, the accused persons stopped his car in Dadar near Irani Mansion and started filming.
When he objected, they abused him and his wife and threatened to kill him. The incident took place on July 13 around 10.15 pm, when Bangar and his wife, Vijaya Shashikant Bangar, had gone to Dadar to drop their daughter.

According to Bangar, the duo also attempted to assault him. Bangar asked them to calm down and suggested calling the police to verify his identity and vehicle details. He also attempted to contact the emergency helpline numbers 100 and 112.
After dropping his daughter, Bangar was returning towards Irani Mansion near Dadar TT when the duo allegedly blocked his way and began photographing and recording his SUV, particularly the "Nyayadhish" plate on its dashboard.
The duo allegedly questioned Bangar about why he had displayed the plate and asked who had permitted him to use it. Bangar told them that he was a member of the MACT. He also told them that details regarding the vehicle had been submitted to the Bombay High Court.
Bangar told the police that the conduct of the men, including allegedly photographing his vehicle, refusing to identify themselves, opposing his attempt to call the police, and threatening him, made him suspect that they could be professional blackmailers or persons with criminal intentions. Bangar further told police that he noticed one of the men was wearing a dark-colored checked shirt and was riding a motorcycle.
Following the complaint, the Matunga police on Tuesday registered an FIR under Sections 126(2), 130, 3(5), 351(3), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against two unidentified persons, and an investigation has been initiated.
