Twenty-five alleged illegal immigrants from Bangladesh have been detained by Versova Police over the past three weeks, Senior Inspector Deepshikha Vare told midday.com.

"After these detentions, a proposal is usually sent to the government, and following coordination with the Government of Bangladesh, a deportation date is finalised," Vare added.

27 Bangladeshi nationals deported this year

Recently, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Mumbai, Satyanarayan Chaudhary, told reporters that this year, until February 20, a total of 113 Bangladeshi nationals were detained, of whom 27 have been deported.
