A Security guard, arrested for the alleged sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl, was remanded in police custody by the Mumbai Sessions Court on Monday. The incident occurred in south Mumbai on Sunday afternoon.
According to the police, the minor is currently admitted to the JJ Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and her condition is said to be stable.

âThe accused was presented on Monday at the sessions court, and he was granted police custody till July 18. The accused, a native of Jharkhand, was employed with a private firm, and he is currently facing charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.'

The victim, daughter of a local resident, had gone missing while playing near her residence.
The locals began searching for her and caught the accused assaulting the child.
Following the incident, an enraged mob thrashed the accused before handing him over to the police.

âThe patient was brought in on Sunday evening around 6.30 pm. Our gynaecologist, paediatrician, paediatric surgeon, and forensic experts conducted all the necessary examinations. After admitting her and performing a complete evaluation, she had to undergo an operation. As of Monday morning, her condition is stable, and she has been kept in the ICU. It will take her approximately six to eight weeks to recover.'
