The security drive comes after concerns over passenger safety grew following multiple incidents of assault and fatal stabbing attacks on Mumbai's suburban trains
Railway officials have been reviewing security arrangements to prevent passengers from carrying dangerous items and to ensure a safer travel environment
During the security operation, teams from the GRP and RPF inspected bags and belongings of passengers at CSMT platforms
Officials are also maintaining closer surveillance at the station premises and monitoring passenger movement during busy hours
Mumbai's suburban railway network, which serves millions of commuters every day, has faced repeated concerns over overcrowding and safety
