Actress files police complaint after getting 4,000 abusive calls and messages
Actress Rakhi Sawant has lodged a complaint with the Goregaon police on receiving vulgar and threatening phone calls and messages after she had expressed her support to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Padmavati in a video on social media. According to her complaint, Sawant had recently made the video in support of the film Padmavati and freedom of the Indian film Industry. The video, however, got her several threatening calls and vulgar messages on social media and several manipulated images of her on her social media accounts.

"There were more than 4,000 abusive phone calls on Sawant's number, and a number of sexual and morphed images and videos of her were posted on her social media accounts. The calls had repeated the concerns of the Rajputanans and the glory of Rani Padmavati," the police said. "The police are in the process of finding out details of the numbers used to threaten and share vulgar messages and images of Sawant," the police said. The police have lodged a case against unknown people under Sections 354A, 509, 507 and 34 of IPC and 67 and 67A of Information Technology Act.
