Central Railway (CR) Friday, announced a special block in the Kasara section between June 2 and June 5 to undertake preparatory overhead equipment (OHE) work related to the removal of infringements in the Igatpuri-Khardi section.
According to the officials, the block will be carried out daily from 3:50 pm to 5:50 pm between Tuesday and Friday. The work will affect operations on the UP line, mid line, UP yard line and Platforms 2, 3 and 4 between Thal Ghat Reversal Cabin and Khardi station, excluding both stations.
Due to the block, suburban train services between Asangaon and Kasara will remain unavailable during the specified hours on all four days.
Several Kasara-bound and CSMT-bound suburban services will also be short-terminated or short-originated at Asangaon during the block period.
CR, while issuing an official statement, said that CSMT-Kasara local trains No 19, No 21 and No 23, departing CSMT at 1:10 pm, 2:17 pm and 2:16 pm respectively, will terminate at Asangaon instead of Kasara.
CR also highlighted that Kasara-CSMT local services will originate from Asangaon. Train No 24, originally scheduled to depart Kasara at 3:35 pm, will instead depart Asangaon at 4:12 pm. Train No 26, scheduled from Kasara at 4.16 pm, will depart Asangaon at 4:54 pm, while train No 28, scheduled to leave Kasara at 5:02 pm, will depart Asangaon at 5.39 pm.
Railway authorities have also announced the last and first local services before and after the block period.
The last local for Kasara before the block will be No 17 CSMT-Kasara, departing CSMT at 12:30 pm. The final Kasara-CSMT local before the block will be N22, leaving Kasara at 2:42 pm.
After the block, the first local service towards Kasara will be No 25 CSMT-Kasara, departing CSMT at 4:50 pm, while the first service towards CSMT after the block will be N30 Kasara-CSMT, leaving Kasara at 6:17 pm.
Central Railway further stated that the block is necessary for infrastructure maintenance and safety-related work. Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with railway authorities during the temporary disruption.
