Central Railway introduces special trains to Madgaon and Solapur (Representational image)
Central Railway (CR) on Thursday, May 28, announced additional summer special train services from Mumbai to Madgaon and Solapur. The introduction of summer special trains by Central Railway is aimed at catering to the increased passenger demand during the ongoing summer travel season.
The train services include two special trains between Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Madgaon, along with a one-way special train to Solapur.
According to the official statement from Central Railway, Train No. 01173 special will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 12:25 am on May 30 and reach Madgaon at 3:15 pm the same day.
The return train (01174) will leave Madgaon at 4 pm on May 30 and will arrive at CSMT at 3:45 am the next day.
The Mumbai-Madgaon special trains will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim and Karmali stations.
Additionally, Central Railway will also be operating Train No. 01175, a one-way special train from CSMT to Solapur on May 31. As per the official statement from CR, the train will depart Mumbai at 2:30 pm and arrive in Solapur at 11:45 pm on the same day.
Moreover, the train will stop at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Daund and Kurduvadi en route.
Officials said that the trains will consist of 16 sleeper class coaches; four general second-class coaches, including two sleeper coaches to function as unreserved coaches; and two second-seating cum guard's brake vans.
Reservations for Train Nos. 01173 and 01175 will open on May 29 at all reservation counters, and passengers can also book the tickets through the official IRCTC website. Tickets for unreserved coaches can also be booked through the UTS system, while passengers may use the RailOne app for ticket bookings.
Passengers can check detailed timings and schedules through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) app and website.
