IndiGo has announced the launch of new direct flights from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) to six domestic destinations - Ahmedabad, Diu, Goa, Rajkot, Belgaum, and Kolhapur - starting March 29, 2026, reported news agency ANI.
In an official statement, the airline said these routes will be operated using ATR aircraft, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and strengthening its footprint at Navi Mumbai. The move is expected to significantly improve travel options for passengers flying between metro hubs and tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Bookings for these flights are being gradually opened across all platforms, including IndiGo's website, mobile app, and authorised travel agents.
The airline said the new services are part of its broader strategy to expand operations from Navi Mumbai and provide seamless connectivity with convenient schedules. By increasing its ATR network, IndiGo aims to support tourism, boost regional economies, and ensure faster travel between smaller cities and major urban centres, reported ANI.
The development also marks a key step in operationalising Navi Mumbai International Airport as a major aviation hub, easing congestion at Mumbai's existing airport and improving passenger convenience.
Earlier this month, IndiGo announced temporary adjustments to its long-haul international network due to external operational constraints affecting its widebody aircraft operations.
The airline cited evolving airspace restrictions linked to geopolitical developments, along with congestion at domestic and international airports, as key reasons for increased flight durations and scheduling challenges.
As part of these changes, IndiGo has suspended flights to Copenhagen from February 17, 2026, until further notice. It has also reduced frequencies on key routes, including Delhi-Manchester and Delhi-London Heathrow services, to improve schedule reliability and minimise passenger inconvenience.
The airline stated that affected passengers are being contacted with options for alternative travel, refunds, or compensation in line with regulatory norms.
IndiGo added that its widebody operations, which began in March 2025 through a damp lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways, are a transitional arrangement ahead of the planned induction of Airbus A350-900 aircraft starting in 2028.
The airline emphasised that these adjustments are aimed at maintaining operational stability while it continues to monitor global developments and adapt its international network accordingly.
