A new book by Prosenjit Nath is bound to tug at the heart strings of fans of the late Zubeen Garg. Zubeen Garg: The Voice That Bridged Worlds (Penguin Random House India) hopes to unfold like a quiet conversation about the life of an artiste who never drifted far from his roots.

From Tura to Assam, it follows Garg's journey with honesty, capturing both struggle and pride, and how his voice carried an entire region into the national spotlight.

Geriatric care centre, Aaji Care is letting paws do the healing with their pet therapy programme for those battling dementia and mental health concerns.

Naina Oke, head of department for mental health and geriatric counselling, said, "Our dogs have made patients noticeably happier as pet therapy is known to reduce loneliness and boost serotonin levels in dementia and mental health cases."

Goodbye, legend

He was like a father to me," said Vinay Tripathi, remembering the late Raghu Rai, an iconic photographer and photojournalist who chronicled India's social, political and cultural life over six decades. Tripathi, son of noted photojournalist Sureshwar Tripathi from New Delhi, encountered Rai relatively late in his professional journey, yet the association left a lasting impression on him. "I met him in 2020, and our relationship soon became more personal. Given his achievements in photography, he felt like a god-like figure to me," Tripathi recollected.

Their connection deepened significantly during a workshop in Varanasi in 2024, where they spent time working and exchanging ideas. "After that, he became a driving force in my career - a fierce mentor and a true friend. We stayed in touch consistently until his health began to deteriorate. A legend par excellence," he added, reflecting on a bond that quietly grew across generations and shaped both his personal and professional life as a photographer.

Civic sense zindabad

Have you ever caught someone littering and asked yourself, "Whatever happened to civic sense?" BECO, an eco-friendly home care e-platform, did as well when they decided to step up. On April 25, they organised a Civic Sense Parade along Carter Road promenade. Eram Khan from the e-platform, shared about the idea behind the event, "You hear people talking about civic sense, but where is the action?" Nearly 50 Mumbaikars as well as founders, Anuj Ruia and Akshay Varma participated in the half-hour-long parade. The end result? The group collected 25 bags of waste.
