Central Railway has extended the cancellation, diversion and partial operation of several long-distance trains as restoration work continues on the third railway line between Karjat and Lonavala, an official statement said on Friday.

Railway officials said the South East Down Line and the Mid Line have already been restored. Work is now focused on reopening the third line, which remains affected.

As part of the temporary arrangements, a number of trains will remain cancelled between 25 and 28 July.

Among the affected services are:

- CSMT-Chennai Express (22157/22158)

- CSMT-Hyderabad Express (22732/22731)

- Indore-Daund Express (22943/22944)

- Jodhpur-Hadapsar Express (20495/20496)

- Dadar-Sainagar Shirdi Express (11041/11042)

Passengers travelling on these routes have been advised to check the latest train status before starting their journey.

Express trains diverted

According to the statement, several long-distance trains have also been diverted through alternative routes, including Daund, Manmad, Igatpuri, Kalyan, Surat, Bhusaval and Solapur in Maharashtra.

Affected trains include services between:

- Visakhapatnam and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)

- Madurai and LTT

- Karaikal and LTT

- Rajkot and Secunderabad

- Coimbatore and Rajkot

- Pune and Santragachi

- Gwalior and Daund

These diversions are expected to increase journey times on some routes.

Some services to start or end early

Central Railway has also announced temporary changes to the starting and terminating stations of selected trains.

The Hospete-CSMT Express will terminate at Pune, while the Kolhapur-CSMT Express will terminate at Khadki on selected dates.

Similarly, the return services from Mumbai will originate from Khadki and Pune instead of CSMT during the disruption period.

Railway officials stated that the inconvenience caused was deeply regretted and appealed for public cooperation while restoration work continues.
