The government plans to felicitate centres classified as ‘Smart’ on January 26, 2027.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed government departments and MahaIT to complete all pending work related to the state's digital governance services platform by December 31, ahead of its planned launch on January 26, 2027.
The platform will integrate services available on MahaDBT 2.0, MAITRI 2.0 and Aaple Sarkar 2.0, with the aim of enabling citizens to access government services seamlessly through digital channels.
Fadnavis issued the directions during a meeting at his official residence, Varsha, to review the integration and streamlining of services across the three platforms. He said effective coordination between departments and MahaIT was essential to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Once fully operational, the system is expected to reduce the daily administrative burden on government departments by 50 per cent and minimise the need for citizens to visit government offices in person.
The Chief Minister directed departments to avoid frequent changes to technical requirements during the development process and asked MahaIT to ensure that the platform meets departmental needs. He also called for a time-bound mechanism to record and resolve technical and administrative issues.
Departments have been instructed to complete the process of issuing government resolutions within three days of approval by the High-Powered Committee.
The state government has set November 30 as the deadline for departments to integrate their external portals with Aaple Sarkar and MAITRI.
MahaIT and MAITRI must also complete the development and integration of government-to-citizen and government-to-business services approved by the High-Powered Committee by the same date.
User acceptance testing, field testing, training for officials, preparation of user manuals and citizen awareness activities must be completed by December 15.
Fadnavis said the platform's success would be measured by citizens' experience and feedback rather than merely the completion of technical work. He stressed that services must be easy to access and deliver tangible benefits to the public.
Of the 1,222 services reviewed by the government, 723 have been rationalised. These include 32 non-service items, 83 obsolete services, 51 immediate services and 333 duplicate or supplementary services.
Further action is underway on 467 services across 46 sub-divisions, following approval from the High-Powered Committee.
The government plans to bring 130 schemes run by various corporations onto MahaDBT 2.0, using standardised application forms.
A unified âMahaHostel' platform is also being developed to cover more than 1,700 hostels managed by nine departments.
The state has additionally proposed a centralised registration portal for government contracts based on the principle of âOne Contractor, One Identification Number'.
Meanwhile, a database-driven system is proposed to proactively identify pension beneficiaries. The government has identified 8.9 lakh potential beneficiaries across Maharashtra.
The state is also developing a system to integrate the Sports e-Certificate platform with the state education board so that students' verified sports marks can be automatically included in examination results.
Of the 32,479 active service centres across the state, 17,517 have reported compliance with prescribed standards, while 12,824 have completed verification.
The centres are being classified into four categories, âSmart', âCapable', âEmerging' and âAspiring', based on application volumes, operational days, approval rates, citizen feedback and quality standards.
The government plans to felicitate centres classified as âSmart' on January 26, 2027.
Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Minister Ashish Shelar, Maharashtra State Commission for Right to Services Chief Commissioner Manukumar Shrivastava, senior officials from various departments and representatives of MahaIT, MAITRI and Samagra attended the meeting.
