Several Maharashtra government online services, including websites, portals, applications and citizen services, will remain unavailable from 4 pm on Friday, as the Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation Limited (MahaIT) undertakes data centre migration and system upgrades.
The temporary Maharashtra online services shutdown is expected to continue until Tuesday, October 20, when services are likely to resume after the completion of technical work and system checks. MahaIT aims to complete the upgrade by Monday, October 19.
The shutdown will affect digital platforms developed and maintained by MahaIT for various state government departments. Citizen services and services provided through Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) will also be unavailable during the maintenance period.
According to the corporation, the exercise involves relocating the data centre and upgrading the existing systems. The work is aimed at improving the performance of government digital services, strengthening technical infrastructure and making online platforms more stable, reliable and secure.
During this period, users will not be able to access the affected websites, portals, applications and related services.
MahaIT has appealed to citizens, government departments and other users to complete urgent online applications, submit necessary documents and clear pending online transactions before 4 pm on Friday.
The advisory is particularly relevant for users who need to access government portals for time-sensitive applications or documentation, as the affected services will remain completely unavailable during the upgrade.
Users have been advised to plan their online work in advance to avoid inconvenience during the temporary shutdown.
MahaIT is aiming to complete the technical work by October 19.
However, the restoration of services is expected on October 20, following the completion of the necessary technical procedures and system checks.
The corporation has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the scheduled maintenance and appealed to citizens to cooperate and remain patient while the work is underway.
The upgrade is intended to strengthen the state's digital infrastructure and ensure more secure and efficient online services for citizens.
Meanwhile, CM Fadnavis has directed government departments and MahaIT to complete all pending work related to the state's digital governance services platform by December 31, ahead of its planned launch on January 26, 2027.
The platform will integrate services available on MahaDBT 2.0, MAITRI 2.0 and Aaple Sarkar 2.0, with the aim of enabling citizens to access government services seamlessly through digital channels.
