Maharashtra is witnessing a spell of intense heat, with Vidarbha recording temperatures as high as 44 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms, lightning, and light rainfall in parts of the state.
In Pune (Shivajinagar), the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 40 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may settle near 22 degrees Celsius.

Mahabaleshwar records lowest temperature
Hill station Mahabaleshwar recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 21.4 degrees Celsius, making it the coolest location amid prevailing heatwave conditions.
No significant rainfall was recorded across Maharashtra, keeping conditions largely dry and hot.

Overall, while heatwave-like conditions persist in Vidarbha and parts of interior Maharashtra, isolated thunderstorms and light rain may bring slight relief in some areas later in the day, according to the IMD.
