Foreign diplomats from multiple countries celebrate Ganeshotsav 2026 at CM Fadnavis' residence in Mumbai

Consuls General and senior diplomatic representatives from several countries visited Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's official residence, Varsha, on Friday, to celebrate the ongoing Ganeshotsav 2026.

The Maharashtra chief minister welcomed the diplomatic representatives and performed Ganesh puja with them during the visit.

Ganeshotsav is one of the biggest festivals in Maharashtra.

CM Fadnavis also interacted with the Consuls General during the meeting, an official statement said.

Fadnavis held discussions with the diplomats on issues in a cordial atmosphere.

The statement also said that all the consuls during their visit experienced Maharashtra's cultural traditions associated with Ganeshotsav.

• Walter Ferrara of Italy
• Mustafa Kemal Atatürk of Turkey
• Mohammed Taher Abdulmoghni of Yemen
• Ahmed Saad Al-Sulaiti of Qatar
• Siriporn Supani Matvisetkul of Thailand
• Patrick Leverino of France
• Bangladesh's Deputy High Commissioner Farhana Ahmed Chowdhury

The gathering also included Tomasz Wielgomas of Poland, Christoph Hallier of Germany, Anna Zaychenko of Ukraine, Patrick Duffy of Ireland, Railsa Peluti Alencar of Brazil, Dalia Tawakol of Egypt, Chin Ji of China, Nabil Touti of the Netherlands, Saeed Reza Mosayeb Motlagh of Iran, Sven Ostberg of Sweden, Monica Nagelgaard, Shirani Ariarathne of Sri Lanka, Najwa Musyarifa Ramli of Malaysia, Zuhair Saad Abbas of Iraq, and Pierre Steeverlinck of Belgium.

Finland's Deputy Consul General Jonna Suni also attended the programme as CM Fadnavis's official residence.

Along with the Chief Minister, Chief State Protocol Officer Rajesh Gawande, Investment Advisor to the Chief Minister Kaustubh Dhavase, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Lokesh Chandra, Principal Secretary Shrikar Pardeshi, Amrita Fadnavis, and other officials were also present on the occasion.

The visit from diplomats across the world came during Ganeshotsav, one of Maharashtra's major festivals, which is marked by public celebrations and the worship of Lord Ganesha across the state.
