Mumbai's weather this month might be a far cry from the Scandinavian autumn, but it was no big deal for Norwegian DJ Alan Walker, who dropped by The Revolver Club (TRC), the record store and café in Bandra earlier this week. As part of a series of visits with DJ and producer Karan Kanchan, Walker browsed and played through some classic vinyls from the store's vast collection. "He was intrigued by the range of vinyls, from Linkin Park to Bollywood classics like Dil Se," the TRC team told us. We never thought we'd see the Faded hitmaker pose with a vintage Bobby (1973) vinyl, but that's Bandra for you.

Hit out of the park

The long queues at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivli on weekends have always tested our patience, but there's now something to make the wait a tad more rewarding. A collection of striking wildlife photographs, clicked by winners of the Wildlife Week competition earlier this month, are now on display for visitors. Among the winning entries are Rajneesh Sharma, Chetan Bodke, Abhijit Shom, Amit Salkar, and Prathamesh Shewale. Go on, join the queue and put your wildlife knowledge to test.

Meet and potatoes in Japan

It's 2026, and only your jootas being Japani barely cuts it. Ask city-based poet Yahya Bootwala who got a taste of Japanese hospitality at its best, through... 10 kilograms of Japanese potatoes. In a small town in Fukushima to conduct a poetry workshop, Bootwala and company were sent on their way with baskets of Japanese potatoes as a token of appreciation. "We hosted around 10 local residents in their 40s who had never written poetry before. They joined in because they found us interesting. That is a story in itself," shared Bootwala from Japan. While Bootwala is now considering throwing a ‘French fries party', elsewhere in the city centre of Shibuya, another Mumbaikar found a way to pay tribute to the city's most famous dog. Graffiti artist Raj Pathare aka Mooz put up a sticker featuring his own canine Hachi, at Hachiko Square, named after the loyal dog who waited for his owner for nine years. Keep an eye out for the little sleeping dog the next time you're in the island nation.

Live in LA

Artist Santanu Hazarika was all smiles as he shared the news of taking his ink and line work to Los Angeles for the first time, come November. In a collaboration with artist Marvin Scott Jarrett as part of a larger concept creation at the iconic legacy fashion space, High Society by David Lim, Hazarika will be part of a seven-day session. "The audience is included in the creative performance. The idea is to show people not just the finished artwork, but also the process. An open studio will allow people to walk in and witness the works coming together," the artist told us.
