Central Railway (CR) will operate a series of special traffic and power blocks at Kasara as part of ongoing infrastructure work linked to the Asangaon-Kasara 3rd Line Project and the extension of the UP Yard line towards Igatpuri.
As per the Central Railway, the 12-day block programme is being carried out from October 7 to October 18, 2026. The maintenance work includes pre-non-interlocking (NI), non-interlocking and post-NI works in Kasara Yard. Amid the ongoing work, CR released details of train-related repercussions for the period from October 10 to 13.
Central Railway said that the work is part of the larger 3rd and 4th line project between Kasara and Kalyan, which is aimed at segregating suburban and long-distance mail/express traffic. As per the officials, the project is expected to improve operational flexibility, facilitate smoother train movements and create additional capacity for running more services.
The block will affect suburban services between Asangaon and Kasara during the specified hours.
The blocks will be imposed as follows:
The affected section covers the UP Main Line between Kasara-Khardi and Umbermali-Kasara, including platforms 1, 3 and 4 and the UP Yard.
On October 10, 12 and 13, CSMT-Kasara locals departing CSMT at 1.10 pm, 2.17 pm, 2.46 pm and 4:50 pm will be short-terminated at Asangaon.
In the reverse direction, Kasara-CSMT locals scheduled to leave Kasara at 3.35 pm, 4.16 pm, 5.02 pm and 6.17 pm will instead originate from Asangaon at 4.12 pm, 4.54 pm, 5.39 pm and 6.54 pm, respectively.
The Kasara-CSMT local scheduled for 8.15 pm on October 10 will leave 20 minutes late.
As per the official statement released by Central Railways, on October 11, CSMT-Kasara locals departing at 1.10 pm, 2.17 pm and 2.46 pm will be short-terminated at Asangaon. Kasara-CSMT services scheduled at 3.35 pm, 4.16 pm and 5.02 pm will originate from Asangaon at 4.12 pm, 4.54 pm and 5.39 pm, respectively.
The Kasara-CSMT local scheduled at 6.17 pm on October 11 will depart 13 minutes late.
Central Railway has also announced changes to the first and last local services during the block period.
The last local for Kasara before the block will leave CSMT at 12.30 pm from October 10 to 13, while the last local for CSMT from Kasara will depart at 2.42 pm.
The first local for Kasara after the block will leave CSMT at 6.28 pm on October 10, 12 and 13, and at 4.50 pm on October 11.
In the UP direction, the first Kasara-CSMT local after the block will leave Kasara at 8.35 pm on October 10, 6.30 pm on October 11, and 8.15 pm on October 12 and 13.
While issuing an official statement, the CR said that the block will also affect several long-distance trains. A number of UP trains will be regulated at Igatpuri or short of Igatpuri on the Bhusaval Division, with their destinations expected to be reached 35 to 40 minutes late.

The Sainagar Shirdi-CSMT Vande Bharat Express will also be regulated on October 10 and 12, while the Howrah-CSMT Gitanjali Express, Gomti Nagar-CSMT Pushpak Express, Nanded-CSMT Tapovan Express and Ballia-LTT Kamayani Express will be affected on multiple dates.
On October 11, following UP-bound trains are expected to reach their destinations 35 to 40 minutes late:
Hingoli Deccan-CSMT Janshatabdi Express, will also be regulated and are expected to reach their destinations 35 to 40 minutes late.
Following Down services will face delays of around 20 to 25 minutes on October 10, 12 and 13.
Other affected services include the CSMT-Firozpur Punjab Mail, LTT-Prayagraj Duronto Express, LTT-Raxaul Antyoday Express, LTT-Pratapgarh Udyognagari Express, CSMT-Howrah Duronto Express, Coimbatore-Jabalpur Superfast Special and LTT-Nanded Express, depending on the date.
On October 11, several additional Down trains, including the CSMT-Hingoli Deccan Janshatabdi Express, Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangaladweep Express, CSMT-Jabalpur Garibrath Express, LTT-Ballia Kamayani Express, Dadar-Gorakhpur Express and LTT-Sultanpur Express, will also be delayed by 20 to 25 minutes.
