Western Railway (WR) during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, will undertake a jumbo block between Santacruz and Mahim stations for maintenance work on tracks, signalling systems and overhead equipment.
According to the official statement from WR, the block will be carried out on the Up Fast line from midnight to 4 am and on the Down Fast line from 12.30 am to 4.30 am.
During the maintenance block, all Fast line trains will be operated on the Slow line between Andheri and Churchgate.
Western Railway further said that there will be no block during the daytime on Sunday, September 20, and suburban services during the day will operate as per the regular schedule.
The night block has been planned to facilitate essential maintenance of railway infrastructure while minimising disruption to suburban services during the daytime.
Western Railway has further advised passengers to take note of the maintenance work and plan their journeys accordingly.
Meanwhile, Central Railway's Mumbai Division on Wednesday said that it will operate special traffic and power blocks between Palasdhari and Khopoli for two months to carry out TSR work from September 18.
The blocks will be implemented every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, starting from the night of September 18-19, 2026, Central Railway said in a press release issued on Wednesday.
The special traffic and power blocks will be in force from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on the specified days.
The blocks will cover the Palasdhari-Khopoli section and will continue for a period of two months.
During the block, suburban train services between Palasdhari and Khopoli will not be available.
Central Railway said the following services will be cancelled or short-terminated during the block:
- The Khopoli-Karjat local departing Khopoli at 12.30 am will remain cancelled.
- The CSMT-Khopoli local departing CSMT at 11.18 pm on Wednesday will be short-terminated at Karjat.
Railway authorities have also announced the last and first services before and after the block.
- The last local before the block for Khopoli will be the CSMT-Khopoli local departing CSMT at 10.57 pm.
- The last local before the block from Khopoli will be the Khopoli-Karjat local departing Khopoli at 11.20 pm.
- After the block, the first local for Khopoli will be the Karjat-Khopoli local departing Karjat at 5.43 am.
- The first local from Khopoli will be the Khopoli-CSMT local departing Khopoli at 4.50 am.
