Earlier on Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis hoisted the tricolour at Mantralaya to mark Independence Day. Following the ceremony at Nariman Point, Fadnavis addressed the public, paying tribute to freedom fighters, martyrs, and soldiers guarding the nation's borders.
During the flag hoisting at Red Fort on August 15, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the anti-terror âOperation Sindoor'. He described it as India's response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, where perpetrators killed husbands in front of wives and fathers before their children after questioning their religion.
