Central Railway's (CR) Mumbai Division will undertake a mega block on its suburban network on Sunday, July 19, to carry out essential engineering and maintenance works.
As per the official statement from the Central Railway, the block will affect services on the Main Line as well as the Trans-Harbour Line, with several suburban services cancelled and multiple long-distance trains diverted.
On the Main Line, a block will be taken on the 5th and 6th lines between Vidyavihar and Thane from 8 am to 1:30 pm.
During the block period, the following Down Mail/Express trains will be diverted to the Down Fast line at Vidyavihar before being re-diverted to the 5th line at Thane. CR officials further highlighted that the following trains are expected to run 10 to 15 minutes behind schedule:
Similarly, the following Up Mail/Express trains will be diverted to the Up Fast line at Thane and re-diverted to the 6th line at Vidyavihar, resulting in an expected delay of 10 to 15 minutes:
On the Trans-Harbour Line, a Mega Block will be carried out on the Up and Down lines between Thane and Vashi/Nerul from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. Following the block, all Trans-Harbour suburban services between Thane and Vashi, Nerul and Panvel will remain suspended during the block period.
As per Central Railway, Mega Block is necessary to facilitate infrastructure maintenance and ensure the safe operation of train services.
Moreover, passengers have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with the Railway Administration during the maintenance work.
