Mumbai University extends undergraduate admission deadline to May 26; check details here

The University of Mumbai has extended the registration deadline for its undergraduate (UG) programs to 1 pm on May 26, 2025. Students who missed the earlier deadline can now register through the official website at mu.ac.in/admission.

In an official circular, Mumbai University informed the principals of affiliated, autonomous, and non-autonomous colleges across the Arts, Science, and Commerce faculties, as well as heads of university departments and directors of university sub-campuses (Thane, Kalyan, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg), that the admission process for all UG programs for the academic year 2025-26 is being conducted in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the government resolution dated April 20, 2023.

The admission process follows a Multiple Entry, Multiple Exit (ME-ME) framework, and applies to three-year UG degree programs, four-year Honours and Honours with Research programs, and five-year integrated UG-PG programs.

This extension applies to all undergraduate courses offered by Mumbai University, including those at affiliated, autonomous, and university-run colleges, covering over three lakh seats across Maharashtra.

Online/Offline Admission Form Availability: May 8 to May 26, 2025 (till 1 PM)

Pre-Admission Online Registration: May 8 to May 26, 2025 (till 1 PM)

Submission of Admission Forms with Pre-Enrolment Details: May 8 to May 26, 2025 (till 1 PM)

First Merit List Release Date: May 27, 2025 (at 5 PM)

Document Verification & Online Fee Payment (1st List): May 28 to May 30, 2025 (up to 3 PM)

Second Merit List Release Date: May 31, 2025 (at 7 PM)

Document Verification & Fee Payment (2nd List): June 2 to June 4, 2025 (up to 3 PM)

"All Admissions to the First Year of Degree Programs and their Academic activities will be as per the provisions and guidelines of NEP 2020 issued by the University of Mumbai, Government of Maharashtra and U.G.C. from time to time. All Colleges including Autonomous Colleges should strictly follow the above admission schedule. The Colleges must admit students as per sanctioned intake only. Following the prevailing norms of reservation and eligibility of the programs. Directors of Sub-campus of Thane, Kalyan, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are hereby directed to strictly adhere to the schedule of admission Norms of Reservation and Norms of Eligibility for admission of the concern program," Mumbai University said in the circular.

"Principals and Management of the College will be held responsible for any deviation in the sanctioned intakes, Norms of reservation and Norms of Eligibility for admission of the concerned program," it added.
