Mumbai weather update: City to experience warm day with temperatures around 35 degrees Celsius

The weather department has predicted the maximum temperature to hover around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to settle near 26 degrees Celsius

Mumbai is likely to experience mainly clear skies in both the city and suburban regions on Tuesday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the IMD, the minimum temperature settled at 26.8 degrees Celsius in Colaba and 27 degrees Celsius in Santacruz.

In the morning report, the Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 35.8 degrees Celsius, while Colaba registered 35.4 degrees Celsius, indicating persistent heat and humidity in the financial capital.

Meanwhile, the city's air quality remained in the ‘Satisfactory' category on Tuesday morning. According to the Central Pollution Control Board's Sameer App, Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 72.

The AQI level may cause minor breathing discomfort to sensitive individuals.

Among major locations, Bandra Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 80, while Borivali East stood at 95 and Andheri East at 93. Byculla registered an AQI of 82, while Chembur recorded 72.

Colaba reported comparatively cleaner air with an AQI of 54. However, Deonar recorded the highest pollution level in the city at 116, falling under the ‘Moderate' category.

Heatwave-like conditions grip Maharashtra; Jalgaon hottest at 44.3 degrees Celsius

Maharashtra continued to reel under intense heat on Tuesday, with several parts of the state recording temperatures well above normal, according to the latest weather bulletin issued at 8.30 am.

Jalgaon emerged as the hottest location in the state with a maximum temperature of 44.3 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Beed at 43.5 degrees Celsius, Aurangabad at 43.4 degrees Celsius and Malegaon at 43.2 degrees Celsius. Nashik also remained under severe heat conditions, recording 42 degrees Celsius, nearly five degrees above normal.

Heatwave-like conditions persist in Marathwada, north Maharashtra

In Marathwada and north Maharashtra, heatwave-like conditions persisted as Parbhani touched 43.2 degrees Celsius, while Satara recorded 41.1 degrees Celsius and Jeur registered 41 degrees Celsius.

Konkan region records warm, humid weather

Coastal districts such as Ratnagiri and Dahanu recorded comparatively lower temperatures at 34 degrees Celsius and 37.9 degrees Celsius, respectively, but humidity levels remained high.

Several districts witness above-normal temperatures

Among other regions, Kolhapur recorded 38.9 degrees Celsius, Sangli 39.3 degrees Celsius, Solapur 42.3 degrees Celsius and Alibag 38.2 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department noted that temperatures across many districts were between two and five degrees above normal, indicating continued heat stress across the state.
