The city and its suburbs are expected to experience partly cloudy skies during the morning hours, turning mainly clear by the afternoon and evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
The city is set for a hot day, with the IMD forecasting a maximum temperature of around 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, air quality in Mumbai remained in the "satisfactory" category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) Sameer App, the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 51.
Across key locations in Mumbai, Borivali East recorded an AQI of 68, Byculla 54, Andheri East 65, Chembur 41, Colaba 54, Ghatkopar 63, Kandivali West 53, and Bandra East 53.
In the surrounding regions, Thane recorded an AQI of 62, Kalyan 60, and Navi Mumbai 67, all remaining in the satisfactory range.
Meanwhile, overnight rain and thunderstorms led to a drop in minimum temperatures across the city on Tuesday, while also improving air quality levels.
The 24-hour cumulative rainfall recorded till 8:30 am stood at 4.6 mm in Safdarjung, 6.1 mm in Lodhi Road, and 11.9 mm in Ridge. Palam recorded only a trace of rainfall, while Ayanagar remained dry.
In terms of temperatures, Safdarjung recorded a minimum of 19.6 degrees Celsius. Palam registered 21.1 degrees Celsius, Lodhi Road 18.6 degrees Celsius, Ridge 17.7 degrees Celsius, and Ayanagar 22.4 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has forecast a maximum temperature of around 33 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of thunderstorms and rain later in the day.
Air quality also showed marked improvement, with the AQI standing at 69 in the morning hours. According to CPCB standards, an AQI between 51-100 is considered 'satisfactory'.
Amid persistently challenging weather conditions at Kedarnath Temple, the situation continues to test both pilgrims and authorities. After three days of continuous rainfall, light snowfall was also recorded at the shrine on Monday.
Despite the adverse weather, the enthusiasm among devotees remains high, with a large number of pilgrims continuing their journey on foot to seek the blessings of Baba Kedar.
