Central Railway (CR) has formally taken over the administration of 14 suburban railway stations in Navi Mumbai from CIDCO, effective Friday, August 14, marking a significant change in the management of the city's suburban rail infrastructure.
The stations handed over to CR include Vashi, Sanpada, Juinagar, Nerul, Seawoods-Darave-Karave, Belapur, Airoli, Rabale, Ghansoli, Kopar Khairane, Turbhe, Khandeshwar, Mansarovar and Kharghar.
With the takeover, all 14 stations will come under the direct administrative control of Central Railway. The move is expected to streamline station management and railway operations across the Navi Mumbai suburban network.
CR Chief Public Relations Officer Dr Swapnil Nila confirmed the development to mid-day.
