Navi Mumbai water worries ease as Morbe Dam reaches 57.82 per cent capacity after monsoon rains

Just over a week after Navi Mumbai was bracing for a water crisis, the city's fortunes have turned around with the monsoon.

Relentless rainfall in the Morbe Dam catchment has pushed the reservoir to 57.82 per cent of its capacity, easing fears of immediate water scarcity for more than 15 lakh residents.

According to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation's (NMMC) Daily Water Supply Report released on Thursday, the reservoir now has enough usable water to meet the city's needs for the next 166 days, up to December 22, 2026.
