Passengers travelling on the Netravati Express and Matsyandha Express will face inconvenience this weekend as Central Railway has announced the short termination of the two long-distance trains at Thane station owing to infrastructure augmentation works at Mumbai's Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT).

According to Central Railway, a special block will be operated from 8 am on Sunday, June 14, to 8 am on Tuesday, June 16, to facilitate various infrastructure works aimed at enhancing facilities at LTT.

The works include the construction of a shunting neck, modification of the existing sick siding, improvements to the maintenance siding yard, extension of pit lines in maintenance sidings numbered 6, 7, 8, and 9, and the diversion of water supply, drainage and stormwater lines.

As a result of the block, two trains commencing their journeys on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday will be short-terminated at Thane station instead of completing their scheduled journey to LTT.

"These blocks are essential for infrastructure upgradation and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railways for the inconvenience caused and are requested to kindly take note of the repercussions and plan their travel accordingly," the railway administration said.

Passengers travelling on the affected trains have been advised to check the revised arrangements before commencing their journey and make suitable travel plans in view of the temporary changes.
