Flight operations at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport were temporarily hit by a network outage on Saturday evening. For an hour, boarding pass printing and flight timings had all halted due to the disrupted network.

While there is no confirmation on how the outage happened, sources told Sunday mid-day that the third-party outage caused minor disruptions, as there were minimum flights scheduled at the time.

Air India posted on X, stating, "A third-party data network outage had impacted check-in systems at Mumbai airport, thereby delaying flight departures of airlines, including Air India. The systems have since been restored; however, some of our flights may continue to be affected for some time as the situation normalises progressively."

Another source added that the issue was resolved within an hour, leading to no major flight scheduling issues.

This paper's attempts to contact the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for comment met with no response till the time of going to print. However, sources said the reason for the outage is being investigated.
