Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday announced that the party will launch a nationwide 'Kya Bolti Public' campaign next month to interact with people across India and understand the issues affecting them, reported the PTI.
Dipke made the announcement during a press conference after the party's core team meeting at his residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Abhijeet Dipke said that the campaign aims to understand what people think about the current situation in the country and the problems they face in their daily lives.
He said the party would travel across India to collect public feedback and raise issues that matter to citizens.
Dipke described the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as the biggest achievement of the recent student protests, according to the PTI.
He claimed that the protests had ended the atmosphere of fear among people and encouraged citizens to raise their voices.
According to Dipke, people are now more willing to come forward and demand accountability from those in power.
The CJP founder said that unemployment would remain one of the party's key issues. He also called for major reforms in the education sector, alleging that education has become increasingly expensive and profit-driven, as per the PTI.
Dipke said the party wants to work towards making education more affordable and accessible.
He noted that nearly 60 per cent of India's population is below the age of 35 and said many unemployed young people had participated in the recent protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
Dipke said the Cockroach Janta Party follows the ideals of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.
"Our ideology is the same as the Constitution of India," he said.
He also stressed the need to restore the credibility of the media.
The press conference was attended by CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das, spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka and other party representatives.
"Whether it is the political system, the judiciary, the media, or the Election Commission, the reality is that people have lost faith in all these institutions. We believe that, to restore accountability and neutrality in these institutions, a public movement and public pressure are needed. The political system today, in my opinion, is in a very bad state," he said, according to the ANI.
Rejecting speculation that CJP may soon enter electoral politics, Dipke said the organisation has no immediate plans to become a political party. According to him, people have become increasingly disillusioned with conventional politics, making it more important to build a nationwide citizens' movement capable of holding institutions accountable", the news agency reported.
