âOur team noticed him behaving suspiciously while leaving the AC coach. The recovery has helped detect several railway theft cases'
Anti-theft surveillance personnel spotted Khosla hurriedly leaving an AC coach with a backpack, prompting officers to search him. The bag contained a large quantity of gold and silver jewellery. He was arrested and during interrogation, confessed to stealing passengers' bags from AC coaches on long-distance trains. Police said he is a habitual offender with 39 theft cases registered against him across different states.
Khosla's arrest also helped solve a theft reported by the Konkan Railway Police in Madgaon. In that case, complainant Jeril Scaria had reported that his wife's handbag containing gold and silver jewellery, and an iPhone, was stolen while the family was asleep aboard the Netravati Express during their journey from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai to Kerala.
