The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) says Mumbai's ongoing road concreting drive has led to fewer pothole complaints this monsoon, with only about half of the 2114 complaints received found to be genuine pothole cases.

According to the civic body, 1057 complaints did not pertain to potholes, while 323 complaints were pending as of Wednesday. The BMC also said it expects pothole repair expenditure to fall by 45 per cent this year because of the large-scale conversion of asphalt roads into concrete roads. In July last year, BMC had received a total of 3625 pothole complaints.
