Five vehicles damaged in fire after fire breaks out at workshop in Thane's Diva, no injuries reported

Five vehicles, parked inside a workshop in Diva area of Thane in Maharashtra, caught fire on Thursday evening, with two vehicles completely gutted in the blaze, officials said, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident.

The fire broke out at around 7.45 pm at workshop, located next to the car showroom on Kalyan Road in Diva.

According to officials, the owners of the vehicles were not immediately known. Two of the vehicles suffered complete damage in the fire.

Fire brigade reaches spot

After receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Shil Fire Station reached the workshop.

Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot with two fire engines and one rescue vehicle. Personnel from Diaghar Police and Torrent Power were also present at the spot.

Blaze brought under control

Firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other vehicles and nearby structures.

The fire was completely extinguished at around 9.02 pm, officials said.

No one was injured in the incident. The cause of the fire was not immediately known and further details are awaited.

Bus catches fire on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

Meanwhile, in an another incident, passengers travelling from Udaipur to Pune had a narrow escape on Thursday morning after their private sleeper coach caught fire on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Panvel, officials said.

All passengers aboard the bus evacuated the vehicle safely after the fire broke out. No casualties were reported, police said.

The incident occurred around 7.20 am on the Pune-bound lane of the expressway, within the jurisdiction of Rasayani Police Station.

According to preliminary information, the fire may have been caused by a technical fault in the bus's air-conditioning system, police said. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be established.

Firefighters rush to the spot

After receiving information about the incident, local fire brigade personnel and rescue teams from other agencies reached the spot and began firefighting operations.

Teams from the Panvel Municipal Corporation and Khopoli Municipal Council were also deployed to assist in containing the blaze.

The fire was subsequently extinguished, and the incident did not result in any injuries or casualties, officials said.
