The Thane Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic diversions and road closures on Ghodbunder Road in connection with girder erection work for a foot overbridge near Brahmand Junction and Mullabagh Bus Depot.

The traffic restrictions will remain in force for two phases beginning late Thursday night to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and public safety during the construction activity.

According to the traffic notification issued by Thane Police, the work will be carried out by RPS-PRS Joint Venture Pvt. Ltd. in two phases - from 11:55 pm on May 8 to 11:55 pm on May 9, and from 11:55 pm on May 9 to 6 am on May 10.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Thane City, Pankaj Shirsat issued the order under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act to regulate traffic movement and avoid congestion on the busy Ghodbunder Road stretch during the erection work.

Brahmand Signal To Kapurbawdi Route Closed

As per the notification, all vehicular traffic moving from Brahmand Signal towards Kapurbawdi via the Brahmand-Manpada route will remain completely closed during the notified period.

Motorists travelling towards Kapurbawdi from Brahmand Signal have been advised to take a left turn at Brahmand Signal and proceed via Azad Nagar Road and Brahmand Circle. Vehicles can then continue through the Lodha Amara junction, take a right turn onto Kolshet-Dhokali Road, and proceed towards Kapurbawdi and other destinations.

Entry To Manpada Bridge Ramp Restricted

Thane Traffic Police also stated that entry to the Manpada Bridge ramp near the MG Motors showroom on Ghodbunder Road will remain shut for all types of vehicles during the construction work.

Commuters travelling from Thane towards Ghodbunder Road have been advised to use the slip road adjacent to Manpada Bridge and take a left turn near Nagori Tea Stall. Vehicles can then proceed via Tikujiniwadi Circle and continue along the road near Variant Nilkanth Green towards Mullabagh Cut to reach their destinations.

The restrictions, however, will not apply to emergency and essential service vehicles, including police vehicles, ambulances, fire brigade vehicles, oxygen transport vehicles, and vehicles involved in green corridor movement.

Thane Traffic Police have appealed to citizens and motorists to cooperate with authorities and use the designated alternate routes to avoid inconvenience and traffic congestion during the construction period.
