Thane Traffic Police issue detailed advisory for New Year’s Eve Ganga Aarti at Talao Pali

The Thane City Traffic Department has issued a traffic control notification ahead of the Ganga Aarti organised by Kopineshwar Cultural Trust on New Year's Eve. The event, scheduled from 4 pm to 11 pm on December 31, 2025, will take place from Ahilyadevi Ghat to Talavpali, under the jurisdiction of Thane Nagar Traffic Sub-Division.

A large number of devotees are expected to participate, prompting authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion in the area.

Entry restrictions

All buses and vehicles turning left from Thane Railway Station via Tower Naka towards Gokhale Road will be blocked at the left turn point. Buses will be rerouted via Satis Bridge to Naupada, while other vehicles will move straight from Tower Naka to Tembhi Naka and Civil Corner. The right turn from Mus Chowk to Baba Faluda, previously closed, will be temporarily opened for right-turn traffic.

GPO closure

Buses moving from GPO, Court Naka to the station via Ambedkar Statue, Tower Naka, and Jambhali Naka will face entry restrictions. Alternate routes are via GPO, Jail Road, Kick Naka, and CIDCO Road.

No-parking zones

Parking is prohibited on both sides of the road from Jawahar Bagh and Fire Station to Mata Ramabai Chowk, and from Mata Ramabai Chowk to Gaondevi Cut, Mahagiri.

The notification will be in effect from 4 pm to 11 pm on December 31, 2025, and does not apply to police vehicles, fire brigade, ambulances, or other essential service vehicles.

Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel, follow diversion routes, and plan travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
