Vikroli records Mumbai's highest 24-hour rainfall at 248.8 mm: BMC

Vikroli received the highest rainfall in Mumbai at 248.8 mm in the 24 hours ending 8 am on July 6, while several other areas also recorded over 200 mm of rain, according to the BMC.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has released its latest rainfall data for the 24-hour period between 8 am on July 5 and 8 am on July 6, revealing widespread heavy rainfall across Mumbai, with several areas recording more than 200 mm of rain.

According to the BMC, Vikroli recorded the highest rainfall in the city at 248.8 mm during the period. It was closely followed by Malvani Fire Station with 248 mm, Borivali Fire Station with 243.2 mm, and Chincholi Fire Station with 239 mm.

Other areas that received intense rainfall included Tagore Nagar Municipal School in Vikroli (235.4 mm), T Ward Office (229.8 mm), Gahnpada Fire Station (216.4 mm), Ward Nagar Municipal School (216.2 mm), Dindoshi Fire Station (208 mm), and Charkop Sector 1 Municipal School in Kandivali (206.8 mm).

The data underscores the widespread impact of the ongoing monsoon across Mumbai, with heavy showers affecting both the island city and the eastern and western suburbs over the past 24 hours. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as the city continues to experience intense rainfall and weather-related disruptions.
