According to initial information, the email was allegedly sent by an individual identifying herself as Neerja Ajmal Khan
The sender claimed that as many as 42 'poison gas' devices had been installed inside the Press Club building
The email claimed that the Muslims of Coimbatore felt betrayed by Udhayanidhi’s family and the DMK, citing arrests under UAPA and media suppression, and expressed disappointment after coming to another state
The mail also claimed that the alleged devices were intended only for property damage and urged that the building be evacuated
The email claimed that, with help from Naxalites and secret cells linked to Pakistan, the sender only had enough resources to target 3-4 buildings but never expected to use them
They said they deployed the bombs at the Press Club after feeling let down
