The Electronic police have arrested a real-estate agent in connection with the hit-and run on Hosur Road on Monday, which resulted in the death of neurosurgeon Ganesh Prasad.

They arrested Chinnaraju in Dharmapuri, who had gone undergone after the incident.The arrest was made with the help of an eye witness, who came forward by providing information about the vehicle in Dharmapuri. He had told the cops that the vehicle's registration number ended with 33.

Following this lead, the police started investigating vehicles of the similar make with the same last two digits. They finally zeroed on two Qualis vans fitting the description. One of the two vehicles had not been in working condition since 2007. Police then started looking at CCTV footage, and finally got the images of the second vehicle yesterday morning.

They tracked down the mobile number from the registration office and called Chinnaraju. Finally they tracked him down in Dharmapuri, and arrested him.

The accused has been remanded to judicial custody and charged with negligent driving, and for failure to shift the victim to the nearest hospital and inform the police.

Electronic City Traffic Police Inspector T Mallesh said, "We got information after three hours of the accident and started our investigation, and found that he was in in Dharmapuri. We got his address details from the mobile company, and arrested him."
