Chhattisgarh: Bear, two cubs die after coming in contact with power line

A female bear and two cubs were electrocuted to death after coming into contact with a power transmission cable that had snapped and fallen in a forest area in Chhattisgarh's Surajpur district, officials said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday in the forest near Parvatipur village under the Pratappur forest range.

According to preliminary information, an 11 kV high-voltage power line passing through the forest snapped and fell to the ground. The animals came in contact with the live wire and died on the spot.
