Jasir Bilal Wani, who is one of the key suspects in the Delhi Red Fort blast case, was produced before a Delhi court on Wednesday.
Wani was then further produced by the agency, as the seven-day NIA custody granted by the Principal Sessions and District Judge, Anju Bajaj Chandna, on November 27 was set to end on Wednesday, reported PTI.
Jasir Bilal Wasim, a resident of Qazigund in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag, and Wani, allegedly a close aide of suicide bomber Umar, were arrested for providing technical support in modifying drones and attempting to make rockets ahead of the deadly November 10 car blast that killed 13 people near Red Fort in Delhi.
In view of investigating the Delhi Red Fort blasts, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out searches across eight locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh. During the operation, the agencies seized various digital devices and other incriminating materials as part of their probe into the November 10 terror attack involving a suicide car blast near the Red Fort area, in which at least 15 people were killed, and several others were injured, as per ANI.
Furthermore, working in close coordination with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police and various sister agencies, the NIA is still continuing its investigation across states to gather every minor detail about the Delhi Red Fort Blast.
News agency ANI also reported that the searches were conducted on Monday at the premises of several accused and suspects linked to the terror attack. The recovered items are now being examined for forensic and technical evidence to identify the wider network behind the attack.
The NIA said, "We are working in coordination with state police forces to trace and arrest every member of the terrorist module responsible for the suicide blast," as cited by news agency ANI.
Earlier on November 10, a suicide bomber, Dr Umar Un Nabi, exploded a Hyundai i20 car near Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, killing 15 people and injuring several others.
Furthermore, on November 29, a Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court at Patiala House Court also extended the NIA custody for 10 days for other accused, namely Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama (J-K), Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag (J-K), Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow (UP), and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian (J-K) in the Delhi blast case.
